On July 3, the members of the Business Association of Tenants of the Industrial Estate of the Free Zone (SERAFRANSA) participated in the launch of the industrial symbiosis project in the Industrial Estate of the Free Zone of Barcelona. During the presentation day, Verónica Kuchinow from Símbiosy introduced the bases and objectives of a new circular economy strategy that aims to turn the reference industrial estate in Barcelona (with approximately 300 companies installed in 6 million m2 of extension) into a sustainable, efficient and innovative industrial estate.
It is about using the tools offered by the circular economy for the most efficient use of resources (owned by the Consortium, the companies and the urban area that surrounds them) applying industrial symbiosis criteria; that is, seeking collaboration and synergies between companies to facilitate new business opportunities.
At the end of the presentation, the first reflections and ideas emerged from several participants, a sign of the good reception and the great potential of the project.
