Project description

On March 10, 2023, the Circular Economy Strategy 2030 of the Principality of Asturias is approved together with its Action Plan 2023–2030. In this context, Símbiosy develops the Strategic Plan for Circular Economy on the initiative of the Vice-Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in collaboration with Cogersa.

The project starts from an initial diagnosis of the territory, based on the mapping of resource flows, with the aim of identifying the priority resources and sectors on which the circular economy can generate a greater environmental, economic, and social impact.

The main objectives of the strategy are:

  • Increase efficiency in the use, transformation, and obtaining of resources.
  • Valorize waste and promote the obtaining of secondary raw materials.
  • Harness new resources as an alternative energy source.
  • Promote the bioeconomy.
  • Improve water management in a sustainable way.
