Project description

The Romica Circular project is being developed as a pilot industrial symbiosis initiative in the Romica Industrial Park, in Albacete, with the aim of demonstrating, through real cases, the viability and impact of circular economy strategies applied to industrial environments.

The project is part of the Regional Circular Economy Strategy of Castilla-La Mancha and its 2021–2025 Action Plan, which includes the creation of circular industrial parks as one of its strategic lines. In this context, Romica Circular is conceived as a demonstration project, promoted by the public administration and developed in close collaboration with the business association of the industrial park.

Through the analysis of the industrial park’s operation and the direct involvement of companies, the project seeks to identify opportunities for improvement in the use of resources, promote synergies between productive activities, and lay the foundations for an effective transition towards more sustainable and competitive models.
