Objective
ENERGIZE Community was created to address one of the main challenges of the energy transition in industrial environments: the difficulty of implementing energy communities due to regulatory complexity, governance models, and financial barriers.
The project focuses on demonstrating the viability of cooperative energy management models in industrial areas, promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and circular economy projects through:
- Participatory processes with companies and local stakeholders
- Capacity building programs
- Development of a digital support hub
- Generation of replicable models in other European territories
The selected pilot regions have a strong industrial base and an active commitment to sustainable energy development.
Results obtained
- Development and testing of energy community models in industrial parks.
- Identification of legal, organizational, and financial barriers and proposals to overcome them.
- Creation of support tools for the replicability of industrial energy communities in Europe.
- Promotion of collective renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in productive environments.
To highlight
- Participation of Manresa in Symbiosis as a pilot region, recognized for its track record in industrial cooperation.
- Linkage with Manresa Il·lumina, the first energy community in an industrial park in Catalonia and awarded as the best energy community in Spain in the Green CommYOUnity Awards.
- Integrating approach that combines energy transition, circular economy, and business cooperation.
- High potential for scalability and replicability in other European industrial parks.
