“Eix Besos Circular”, the industrial symbiosis project of companies in Badalona and Sant Adrià del Besós, will launch the joint collection project for the organic fraction of participating companies in June: industries, hotels, shopping centers, workshops, ports… all collaborating in the joint management of their organic waste.
The collaboration reduces the costs of the selective collection and treatment service; the more companies that participate, the more economical the service will be. In addition, it stimulates compliance with current legislation (which requires selective separation by companies), allowing the organic matter cycle to be closed by recovering a valuable resource in the form of compost and/or biogas and reducing the environmental impact caused by its poor management in landfills.
